An afternoon at Enniskillen

A few weeks back the team decided that it needed to come up with an intro piece to launch Drag Day 2018.
They had a few ideas, some good, some, well, just terrible. With having just the morning to come up with something the guys jumped in the car and went searching for inspiration.
To cut a very long story short, after many fruitless journeys to locations they thought may have been suitable candidates for a photoshoot or piece of film from the drone, the team had hit a brick wall (not in the literal sense!)

That was until it came to their attention that they were more than halfway to St Angelos airfield. So what do you do when confronted with 30 miles ahead of you and a very limited window with the inclement weather sweeping in? You mash the loud pedal of the turbocharged 5 pot and head for Enniskillen post haste.
On arrival the guys were only expecting to get a few snaps outside the tower on the public side of the airport. What they weren't expecting was to be told they were free to use the runway as no more flights were scheduled that afternoon and the weather was moving in fast.

With the drone ready to fly, the only car we had available was the teams daily Focus ST, until one of the airport staff asked wether we would like to use his E46 M3 BMW.
He didn't need to ask twice. They set the cars out and up went the drone, an hour on the runway had given us what the team needed, although this was a total fluke spur of the moment deal. We think it came out great.

Although no Vw's featured in this piece (as if anyone's has a working aircooled Vw in the first week of January!), don't worry, they will in future articles as Drag Day plan to do much more promotional work with the airfield in the coming months. The aim was threefold, announce the venue, the date, and the fact that Straightliners were coming back to Ireland.
Mission accomplished.
